This bit of road tar looks like something washed up from the deep.

Relationship Strata

Read my latest blog about how we relate and why it's so important to consider the definition of our state. Does that person interest us? Are they worthy of connection? Who will we integrate with? More importantly, why should we care?

Last Rights

We all have the right to live and die with dignity and authenticity. Each day we increase or decrease the distance between now and no more. "One more day closer to death?" This is not inevitable. What I do today may bring me two days closer to death or it might push it one day further away. Fate is in the now, not the distant tomorrow. How I live today affects how many days I have left to live.

The Magical Image of Religion

With the beauty of nature all around, there are moments we cannot help but connecting it to the icons of faith.

3 Symbols in Conflict

The power pole looks like a cross, next to a stop sign, slightly beneath a flag. The narrative here is simple, but the meaning depends on which direction you read it. (Left to right) Should we stop religion from taking over America? (Or right to left) Is America the religion that stops the world?

The Path of Light into Dark

Nature is the source of our greatest fears, or most desired pleasures, and our deepest selves. What lies at the end of the light's path, in the cave of darkness?

Unreal Shadow

A shadow was created in this long exposure shot that has the affect of casting a shadow from the tree onto the sky. If you look close, you'll see it's my rotty, Jupiter Juice.

Suburban Dream

White picket fence, green grass, blue sky ... it is the promise of this path to peaceful repose that keeps us knee deep in the mire of struggle. And when we have something simply beautiful like this view, we continue to work hard in order to keep it, making it even more satisfying.

Night Playground

Wealth is controlling space for the sole purpose of providing personal, peaceful, privacy.

Poverty is crowed and loud.

Sun-Eye Stares Through Clouds at Mountain

This huge sun-dog looks like an eye, staring at the mountain; only, is there something on its pupil?

A Paradox of Hope

Recently, the Supreme Court effectively ruled on marriage equality. By dismissing the cases, they upheld the lower court rulings. In most states, all loving couples may now marry. But what about the rest of them? As future rulings emerge from district courts across the country, the only way the Supreme Court becomes relevant is if there is a ruling contrary to consent. Although it will take time for every American to be free to marry whom they wish, today was a milestone in the process.

Peek-A-Boo or Die

A camera is a licence to inspect things I wouldn't have given a second thought. As I study flowers, I have found an odd phenomena: dead bees. It's an overdose. They're stone-cold, thorax deep in the good-stuff. Today, I noticed a bee flying around this plant. Then, I noticed the three dead ones, all assuming this same pose. But one didn't seem so dead. I blew on it. It moved, slowly. I blew harder and it seemed to roll over. I took a pic. Dead bees make great models and I have many pics. This is the first one I caught still alive.  It only looks like peek-a-boo, In reality, this bee is sprawled-out, dying.

Residential Sunrise

When we remember just how great it is to live in a country were we have the time and space to enjoy simple things like a beautiful sunrise, it makes handling all the horrible news from all the distant places in the world just a little easier.

About My Blog

Jaxon Daily

As an artist and philosopher, I search for the answers, finding them simultaneously in the heart and the head.

Sharing is a passion. This blog is an outlet for my daily need to add something positive to this universe. I use many mediums to tell my varied stories. Here, I will share a daily photo and thought. I might delve deep into the meaning and purpose of life or just point out the obvious and extraordinary with a simple moment. My philosophy is base solely on the idea that life is the opportunity to take power or find love; in the end, we cannot do both.

I spend hours writing my narratives and walking my dogs. While I walk, I watch. When something catches my eye, I capture it. This blog will share the two things I love most in one place. So, enjoy a bit of wisdom coupled with a snapshot of time.

All contents of this blog are my originals. It is amazing what one sees when one walks in no particular direction. Check out my other blogs.
