Light Cloud Emits

A bolt of white strikes
the rooftop.

2015

The first rays of the morning light
illuminate this amber,
making it look more like lava,
frozen in time.

Black Ice Fire

Frozen fire burns
dark shapes.

2015

Things live inside trees.
I wonder what lives
in this dark hole.

Color Rush

A rush of color
ignites from
the trees.

The way the light and shadow
interact with the form
feel like some alien world.

The Big House

How many houses do you see?
One? Many?
It's the big house.
Why so much space?

2015

The ice and water war
for a grip on the shore.

I walk the long, crooked path.
Jupiter Juice knows
the simple path.

Tiny Ice River

A macro shot of freezing water
looks like stream
running into a
leaf dam.

The texture of the clouds
add an almost electric feel
to these massive power-poles.

A Cascade of Frozen Bubbles

Beauty is everywhere,
when one looks close
to the cascade of
frozen bubbles.

The sky and clouds
make for a perfect
morning walk.

Stop, Mountain, Clouds

Despite the sign's message,
the wind continues to blow
from the mountain top.

2015

The texture, the form, the edges...
there is a striking balance
between earth and sky.

Ice Limb

I often like to take pics
of shapes, reflected
in different forms.

The ice matches
the pine's lines.

2015

The symbolism of this image is profound. First off, this is a predawn pic. Then the three trees. On the right, you have two of the same type [Father and Son]. On the left, a dark mass [Holy Ghost]. And by God if there isn't a bird atop the pine [Holy Ghost]. When Jesus was baptized by John, the Holy Ghost took the form of a dove. Then there is the bell, the cross, and the heavens. I'm not one to wax religious [to any degree] but I find the composition oddly congruent There's even a mountain directly behind the smaller tree [Son].

Frozen Stream

The frozen path of a
winter stream
leads off into the distance.

2015

A steel star, stained with rust
and stuck deep in tree-bark,
leans forward,
yearning to escape the hold.

Moon, Lamp, Contrails

The moon, lamp, and contrails
align to create
harmonic resonance
in form and shape.

2015
Cloud Demon

The clouds, the shadows, the light...
it all makes for an eerie,
Friday the 13th image.

I may have processed this to highlight the form,
but every pixel is true to the captured RAW image.

Step to the Line

Stepping up to the
electric orange line.

2015

Perched high on the foothills,
I watched the clouds mold the light
into spectacular textures of perspective.

Tree Crown

This feels like a face,
hiding behind a hood,
under a crown of limbs.

A passing winter storm
engulfs the mountain.

Sky on Fire

The beauty and color
of the morning clouds
never ceases to amaze.

2015

It looks as if the cloud
is being pulled away from the mountain
when in fact,
it is diving into it.

Black Claw Mark

In the TV show Grimm,
the revolutionary movement
of the people against the establishment
is called The Black Claw.

I captured an example of their mark,
ripped into old, hard asphalt.

2015

The light is perfect
for capturing the reflections
and ice chunks.

Tree and Cloud Texture

The texture of the sky
matches the texture
of the pine.

Spike Ice Fingers

The skeleton shapes jut
from beneath the ice
and reach for us
like sharp, spiky, knife fingers.
