Colorful Virga


This is a great example of why a great, colorful sunrise is so much more difficult to capture than a comparable sunset. Here, the light just slips under the clouds long enough to color the virga.

The color in a sunrise comes from the fickle prism-effect while the dependable doppler-effect is responsible for orange-red sunsets.
